Another cancelation, another event to wait for until "next year." Vans U.S. Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach not only brings in thousands of spectators every year, but also revenue to the shops and restaurants of Surf City. For 2020, like almost every other event, it will not be happening this year.

The 9 day festival usually packs the sidewalks, streets, and sand with vendors, skateboarding and BMX events, and family friendly activities for all ages. Spending by attendees brings millions to the Orange County economy. Almost 500,000 people attended last year's event. Since 1959, this is the first year the tournament has been canceled. It will return in 2021.
