A recent survey from Small Business for America's Future reveals that the pandemic continues to have a punishing impact on small businesses. More than a quarter of respondents, have considered closing permanently, while 19% are facing the possibility of having to declare bankruptcy because of COVID-19. 15% of small business owners saying they can only survive through October without further federal relief and 34% saying they can only survive until the end of the year. Today, small businesses employ half the country and created nearly two-thirds of jobs following the Great Recession and they can do it again if they are given the proper support. The strength and speed of our economic recovery will depend on the health of our small business community. Shaundell Newsome, co-chair of Small Business for America's Future discusses more results from this survey.
