Eight-grader and Corona native Aisha Randhawa is competing in the 92nd annual Scripps National Spelling Bee.
Aisha and more than 500 fellow spellers have begun the first round of words at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland near Washington D.C. this morning.
There are a total of seven spellers making their fourth or fifth appearance in the national contest and Aisha is one of them. She was eliminated in the 11th round of last year's bee, tied for 22nd place in the 2016 bee and tied for 35th in the 2017 bee.
