The "Dixie Chicks" are no more. Now, they'll be referred to as "The Chicks," or so it seems.

While the trio hasn't made an official announcement, their social media pages and website have all dropped the 'Dixie' from their name.

According to The Rolling Stone, their website did include the following message:

"We want to meet this moment. A sincere and heartfelt thank you goes out to 'The Chicks' of [New Zealand] for their gracious gesture in allowing us to share their name. We are honored to co-exist together in the world with these exceptionally talented sisters. Chicks Rock!"

The name change comes just weeks after "Lady A" pulled a similar move by dropping "Antebellum" due to the ongoing discussion of racism in the U.S.

Along with the name change, The Chicks also released a brand new protest song and music video called, "The March."
