The Orange County Fair has cancelled this year's event due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

According to the OC Register, the three-week event will not happen this year after considering the advice of health care officials and state reccomendations.

Sandra Cervantes, who chairs the OC Fair and Event Center’s board of directors said with the current situation at hand, this was the right thing to do.

“The safety of the community is our main priority and based on the current landscape holding a fair which attracts thousands of people would be very difficult with physical distancing restrictions,” Cervantes said.

This will be the first time the fair has been cancelled in it's 130 year history.
