A Riverside County sheriff's deputy has died after being diagnosed with COVID-19.
"We are saddened to announce the passing of one of our own RSO family members, Deputy Terrell Young," the Sheriff's Department said.
"Terrell Young served this department for 15 yrs & is the 1st member to succumb to the COVID-19 virus," they continued. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones during this difficult time."
Kim Saruwatari, the director for Riverside University Health System-Public Health, also reached out and sent her condolences.
"Sending my sincere condolences to Deputy Young's loved ones and to our friends and partners at @RSO. Such a tragic loss."
