AdoptUSKids.Org is an organization that helps find permanent families for children and teens in the foster care system.
Of the 123K children in the U.S. foster care system waiting to be adopted, approximately one in five are teens. Teens have lower adoption rates than younger children and they often wait longer to be adopted.
Bob Herne, National Project Director for AdoptUSKids.Org and Tamarra Cox, an adoptive parent came on the program to talk about some of the advantages of adopting teens from foster care.
