An emergency meeting was called today with the Board of Education and the Superintendent of the Riverside Unified School District, and the decision was made to close schools beginning Monday, March 16th, through April 3rd, 2020.
According to the districts' website, they will reevaluate whether or not schools will reopen on March 27th. This in light of the recent spread of coronavirus.
Similiar events took place this week with San Diego and Los Angeles School Districts.
RUSD teaches approximately 42,000 students in the area.
