We've been hanging on to hope that Stagecoach Country Music Festival would take place this fall, after it was postponed due to the coronavirus. Unfortunately, the festival has officially been cancelled for 2020.
Goldenvoice, the festival organizer, made the news official today (6/11).
The good news is that the festival is slated to make a return in 2021. The tentative date is the weekend of April 23rd-25th, 2021.
As for tickets holders, Goldenvoice is giving festival goers the option to have their passes roll over for 2021 or get a refund. The post by Stagecoach mentions the "new lineup", so its likely that the orginal line up will be changing for 2021.
The Stagecoach was originally scheduled to take place April 24th-26th with headliners like Carrie Underwood, Thomas Rhett, and Eric Church. However with concerns surrounding the coronavirus, the festival was postponed to October 23rd-25th. Stagecoach was able to keep most of the original line up for the new fall dates. It's unknown if the line up will stay the same for the 2021 festival.
The cancelation of Stagecoach also means that it's sister festival, Coachella, has been cancelled as well.
The rumors of Stagecoach being cancelled have been swirling, especially since the Riverside County Public Health Officer Dr. Cameron Kaiser addressed them. As reported by the Press Enterprise Dr. Cameron Kaiser said, “I am concerned as indications grow that COVID-19 could worsen in the fall,” in a press release. “In addition, events like Coachella and Stagecoach would fall under Governor Newsom’s Stage 4, which he has previously stated would require treatments or a vaccine to enter. Given the projected circumstances and potential, I would not be comfortable moving forward.”
