Not my frappuccino!
I thought Starbucks would have been thriving through the coronavirus pandemic, but it too like other business has seen a drop in sales. According to USAToday, Starbucks will be closing up to 400 stores and transitioning some stores to a "convenience-led format". Those stores would be centered around curbside pick up, drive thru, and mobile order only pick ups.
In a news release Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson said, "As we navigate through the COVID-19 crisis, we are accelerating our store transformation plans to address the realities of the current situation, while still providing a safe, familiar and convenient experience for our customers".
Even though Starbucks plans to close stores, they still have a plan to open 300 new stores. The company had originally planned to open 600 new stores.
