The 405 had "Carmageddon," but that's nothing compared to the Inland Empire's "60 Swarm."

Several local agencies, including CalTrans, Riverside Police Department, and the City of Ontario, are alerting the I.E. of a series of weekend closures over the next 15 weeks, that will affect the 60 between the 15 and 91/215/Riverside interchange.

Nighttime closures begin tonight, with full freeway closures beginning at 10pm Friday night through 5am Monday morning.

Starting this weekend, and for the next seven weekends after that, the eastbound 60 will be shut down for pavement rehabilitation through September 23rd (excluding Labor Day weekend). Westbound lanes and on and offramps will remain open.

Closures of the westbound 60 begin September 28th through November 18th (excluding Veterans Day). Eastbound lanes and on and offramps will remain open.

Motorists are urged to use the 10, 210, 15, and 91 as alternate routes.

An information hotline has been set up at 1-833-60Swarm (1-833-607-9276).
