While waiting for his "big break" in music, Brett Young worked a variety of "day jobs" to help him stay afloat.
"I worked in a lot of restaurants, anything from waiting tables, to bussing tables, to bartending, to cruise ship bartending, to nightclub bartending," he recalls in a statement from his label. "But also the summers after my junior and senior year in high school, I worked construction with a general contractor that did everything from the ground up. Anything from framing a back deck to building a house and laying foundation and doing the whole thing.
"I worked in mortgages the year leading up to that whole big kaboom," he continues. "And so anything that seemed like it was interesting to me and if I worked hard I could be successful, I've kind of been all over the place."
