Carly Pearce turned 30 years old over the weekend (on April 24th), and it's a milestone she welcomed with open arms.
"One of my favorite songs is 'Strawberry Wine' [recorded by Deana Carter], and I remember that lyric, 'I still remember when 30 was old,'" she shares in a statement from her label. "It's not so old anymore.
"I think that in a lot of ways I felt like I would be doing what I am doing," she continues. "I really figured I would be married. I think long ago I thought I'd be like, selling out arenas and with a couple kids, but now I'm realizing I'm still so young and I still have so much time, and I'm so thankful that I didn't rush anything in my life and I didn't get things rushed to me.
In addition to getting married in October, Carly also dropped her sophomore album in February, which was a nice way to round out her 20s.
"I think where I'm at in life, I'm so excited to turn 30, because I really feel like through this record and through the last couple of years of my late 20s – the early 20s and the mid 20s you're figuring it out – and I just feel like I have a lot of things in my life at a good place to take on the next ten years of learning and experiencing and seeing what's to come. So, I welcome 30."
