Carly Pearce has often shared how grateful she is to her dad for being the one to stay behind at home and hold down the fort, and funding her move to Pigeon Ford, Kentucky, at the age of 16 so she could pursue her dream of singing and working at Dollywood. This year, she'll be celebrating Dad as a married woman, and shares some of her favorite memories of him at her wedding last fall when she wed fellow country music artist Michael Ray.
"Number one, he started crying so hard right when the music started playing for us to walk out, that I got so uncomfortable I walked so fast down the aisle, that we stood there for a while so that my friend Jordan Reynolds, who was singing, could have time to get to a place where it made sense for him to stop," she recalls in a statement from her label.
"And the other memorable moment, Michael had the idea of us doing some kind of funny moment together during my father/daughter dance. So we danced a little bit to Jordan Reynolds Singing 'Isn't She Lovely,' and then we broke out into 'The Git Up' by Blanco Brown.
"And it was quite memorable. My dad, he did it justice."
