The inaugural Subaru Country Freedom Festival at the Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro was a tribute to those in uniform: honoring active duty military, veterans and first responders, and providing approximately 2,000 free tickets to those who serve.
Headliner Chris Janson was celebrating the release of his brand new album Real Friends and his most recent chart-topper, "Good Vibes," the lead single from that project. He also shared that the next single from that album will be "Done," which will start to hit radio Thanksgiving week. His energetic set, which saw him jumping around and using every part of the stage, also included his versions of "I Love This Life" and Tim McGraw's "Truck Yeah," which he wrote with Preston Brust and Chris Lucas of LOCASH, as well as his own hits like "Drunk Girl," "Buy Me a Boat," and "Fix a Drink."

Cody Johnson demonstrated why he is well on his way to becoming one of the format's next superstars, never losing the crowd's attention, with his traditional country sound and engaging stage presence. Newcomer Adam Doleac earned some news fans with his strong performance as well, at one point, jumping into the pit to take selfies with the crowd.
Local favorites Honey County, Daniel Bonte & the Bona Fide, Michael Austin, and Timmy McKeever played the main stage in the afternoon, with Presley Tennant singing the National Anthem. Kevin Click, Carmel Helene, Stephen Ray, and Amanda Kate graced the Liberty Saloon stage, which also hosted line dancing (with music provided by DJ Coral) and instruction from Cindi Massengale, making for a very entertaining and non-stop day!
And before the night was over, ever mindful of the theme of the festival, the presenting sponsor Subaru presented the non-profit Fisher House Foundation with a donation.
