A Drake White concert can only be described as a spiritual experience, and that was absolutely the case at his third show at the Brandin' Iron Friday night (June 21st), thanks to his swampy, soulful style.

With a father who was a preacher, the influence of gospel music was evident throughout his set, especially in his most notable songs like "I Need Real," "Back to Free," "Makin' Me Look Good Again," and "Livin' the Dream." He dedicated "Girl In Pieces" to "all you girls struggling with something. And you guys," he added as an afterthought.

He included a fantastic, comedic, new song, "Asshole," and even though it was clear most of the crowd hadn't heard it before, by the end of the last chorus, they were singing along.

"Story" included a freestyle section, which included nods to influences like Stevie Ray Vaughn, Robert Earl Keen, and Sublime. It was acoustic, but his band snuck on stage for a seamless transition to "Simple Life."
