This year, the Eli Young Band will be spending New Year's Eve doing what they do best: perform live, as they've got a show at the House of Blues in Houston, Texas.
"Usually New Years, we're doing what we love, we're on stage," says James Young in a statement from the band's label. "We're surrounded by our friends and family, and there's pretty much nowhere else in the world we'd probably rather be than just to be in the company with each other."
"New Year's kind of became a weird moment for us," recalls lead singer Mike Eli. "We booked a show a few years ago for New Year's Eve right around the birth of Jon's first child. That was actually his birthday, when he was born so…"
"Wasn't supposed to be," adds Jon.
"We ended up having to play a show without Jon," says Mike.
"Now when we play, we try to stay local, which is nice," says Jon. "It was, I think the first show where I've never missed a note, actually."
