Mike Eli's daughter Kline will celebrate her seventh birthday next week, and instilling her with self-confidence and strength is something that's always been important to the Eli Young Band frontman.
"We're still trying to figure out how to be good dads," he says in a statement from the band's label. "I think that we are always trying to figure that out. But any time she says she wants to do something, I always support that. I think that, this day and age she can go out there and take over the world if she wants to. And I try to reiterate that and try to make sure that she knows that whatever she wants in her life, she can go out there and she can take it as long as she works hard for it."
Bassist Jon Jones concurs. "My daughter, who's two and a half, she made the statement yesterday – my son, who's six, he's all about playing with cars and Legos – and she made the statement that boys play with cars and Legos. And I'm like, 'Well Lyla, what do girls do?' And she said, 'Girls can do anything.' How do we nurture that? You say YES."
