When it comes to New Year's resolutions, Mike Eli of the Eli Young Band likes the idea of taking stock of and evaluating where the band is at, but he likes start implementing those ideas in an effective way....and not necessarily wait for the New Year to start working on them.

“I’m not a big fan of resolutions because I feel as if, like they all happen all at once and all these changes come in and everything needs to be all this new, new, new come January," he confesses in a statement from the band's label. "And I feel like, it’s just like setting up for failure and so I have a really hard time with that.

"So I try to start thinking about, whether it’s changing the set lists, or moving around the shows, or coming up with new ideas, I have learned recently to try to make sure that that starts happening before January 1st.”

The Eli Young Band will play an intimate, acoustic show at Wilson Creek Winery in Temecula on Sunday, April 19th.
