Evacuations Ordered for Mann Fire in Norco

A wildfire in Norco has caused the City of Norco to order mandatory evacuations. 

As of 1pm, the areas north of Eighth Street, East of Pedley, and south of the Santa Ana River Bottom had been evacuated. Students at Riverview Elementary were transported to Norco High. At 7:20pm, evacuation orders were lifted for areas west of California Avenue and north of Eighth Street and downgraded to warnings for areas north of North Drive and east of California Avenue.


All evacuation orders were lifted Wednesday morning (March 4th). At 7pm, forward spread was stopped at 175 acres, with 50% containment. 

Evacuation centers include Corona High and Jurupa Valley High. Large animals can be brought to the George Ingalls Event Center. 

As of 3:30 p.m. officials reported the fire was at 175 acres and 20% contained, with forward spread stopped. Two civilians have received non-life threatening injuries. Five properties received minor damage to fencing and outbuldings. Evacuations remain in place.

As of 11:20am, the fire was listed as being at 100 acres with 0% containment.
