Mike Eli of the Eli Young Band uses Thanksgiving as an excuse to cook all his favorite foods....even if he's the only one who eats them.
"I kind of have a 'must list' for Thanksgiving," he says in a statement from his label. "Obviously, sweet potato casserole is kind of a must at our house. Green bean casserole, I'm the only one that likes it, so I make a whole entire green bean casserole dish and I'm the only one that eats it in my house. But for some reason I still make the whole dish, just in case somebody changes their mind.
"And then the turkey, which I have always baked the turkeys in the oven, but the new thing is, is I've got one of those oil-less turkey fryers, and it's the best way to cook a turkey. I highly recommend it. That's what I've been doing for the last few years and it really kind of takes a lot of the stress out of making a turkey."
EYB will perform at the House of Blues, Anaheim, on Sunday, December 8th. No word on whether or not they will serve green bean casserole at the show.
