It's possible the Music Supervisors of "American Idol" didn't quite realize the irony of a certain song placement during last night's audition show.
After revealing seventeen year old Karli Ryan's unsuccessful audition, "God Bless This Mess" by country artist Jillian Jacqueline played in the background to her teary reaction.
Karli's determination to not give up is well placed, especially since after hearing from friends, family, and her co-writers that her song had been used, Jillian revealed that she was once rejected from the popular reality show herself.
"I tried out and DIDN'T MAKE IT to Hollywood when i was 16, so i'll take this as a nice full circle moment," Jillian wrote on social media.
It seems as though Jillian got the last laugh, so keep your chin up, Karli!
P.S. Even though she isn't going to Hollywood, she made a fan out of one very important person!
