With four kids (three who are school-aged), Justin Moore has a whole new appreciation for teachers, thanks to virtual learning.

"I've learned that I need to give a lot more respect to teachers than I already did, and I thought I did a pretty good job of that to begin with," he admits in a statement from his label. "But, when we got shut down in March, obviously, the kids had to come out of school and I am no teacher.

"I was a pretty good student, but I'm not a very good teacher, I can promise you. My ten year old, who will be going into fifth grade, she was doing fourth grade work at the time, obviously, and she kept coming to me with math problems, and I said, 'Sissy, you're gonna have to go ask your mom. Come to me for English and history, but math and science, like, I'm out."

Meanwhile, Justin reports tentative plans for his kids to return to school in person. "We're fortunate that where we live, it's so rural and so small that I don't think there'll be any more than 10 kids in each of my children's classes. So, I hope for them that that continues.

"And I want not only our community but everyone to be as safe and responsible as possible, but at the same time, I'm concerned about my kids fallin' behind, from an educational standpoint because Kate and I are not professionals. I mean, we can do the best that we can. Plus, I'm one of those guys that believes that the social experiences really, really matter, especially to kids right now.  So, I'm hopeful that they get to continue throughout the year, but we'll see. You know, we'll just take it as it comes."
