Congratulations to Kelsea Ballerini, who was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry this evening (April 16th)!

"It's so nice and comforting to know that no matter where life takes me, I can always come here and play country music," the "Miss Me More" singer tearfully said, as she was tearfully inducted by one of her influences, Carrie Underwood

"You have accomplished so much in your career, and you will undoubtedly accomplish infinite amounts more in your career, and in your life. Awards and #1s and sales and tours and fans, and all of it. This is better than all of that. This is the heart and soul of country music. The Opry has been and will always be here. Welcome to the family!" Carrie told Kelsea with a hug.

"I really wouldn't know what it looks like to be a woman in country music without Carrie Underwood," she added. "I've watched you since you started. Not only do I look up to you for your talent and your songs, but your grace and your poise, and your heart, and if I can be half the artist you are, I'll feel like I'm doing something right."

Unfortunately, her husband Morgan Evans was unable to be in Nashville for the event, but he posted a sweet message to his wife on Instagram. "I’m beyond proud of her, beyond stoked for her, and absolutely shattered that I can’t be there," he wrote. "Of all the nights we miss with each other this might be the hardest. Sending all the love and good vibes back to Nashville tonight as you join the most legendary country artists of all time in the Opry Family! Take it all in baby!!!"

Little Big Town invited Kelsea to join the Opry last month.
