Longtime friends Loretta Lynn and Kid Rock have always joked about getting married one day; at Loretta's son's vow renewal this weekend, they took it one step further!
"The preacher was already there so we had some fun with it," the country legend posted on social media about the mock ceremony. "Sorry girls, he's taken now!"
Loretta's granddaughter Tayla Lynn explains that the "All Summer Long" singer was there to officiate the vow renewal for Loretta's son Ernie and Tayla's stepmom Crystal. "They were so caught off guard but both so happy," Tayla says Loretta and Kid's reaction to the appearance of the preacher and the presentation of the veil from designer and personal assistant Tim Cobb.
"We all laughed, sang, hugged," she added. "It was a moment last night in the midst of the world turning sideways where love and joy were absolutely shared."
