Maddie & Tae are not only musical partners, but also best friends off stage as well. In fact, they're planning to vacation together this summer! Tagging along will be Maddie's fiance Jonah Font and Tae's boyfriend songwriter Josh Kerr.
"Our summer plans are going to Cabo together very soon," reveals Maddie Marlow in a statement from the duo's label. "Yes, we are celebrating so many things – the tour, my birthday [July 7th] – and we're getting our hunky men out and we're doing a couple's retreat. Wait, is that the movie? Couple's Retreat?" Maddie asks while Tae Dye exclaims, "Oh my God!"
"Let's get a crazy yoga instructor," Maddie continues. "The boys will freak out. It'll be awesome. Omigosh. We'll video it all," she decides with a laugh.
In a slightly more serious moment, Maddie explains the importance of having some downtime before returning to the stage for a performance at the Santa Barbara County Fair in Santa Maria, on Saturday, July 13th. "I think just turning our brain[s] off," she says. "I sometimes think whenever you're performing in this crazy world that we live in, it's just hectic and you're traveling, and just staying put in one place for a week or so and just getting to turn off the brain completely. And then I feel like we're going to be so creatively, just like, rejuvenated after that."
"I'm going to get a real tan, so I can stop putting a fake one on," Tae adds.
"Yes!" agrees Maddie. "We want to get real tans this summer."
Maddie & Tae will be special guests, along with Runaway June, on Carrie Underwood's "Cry Pretty 360" Tour, which picks back up in San Diego at the Pechanga Arena on Tuesday, September 10th, then comes to the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Thursday, September 12th.
