Album releases become available for download Fridays at midnight East Coast Time. Since that's 9pm Thursday night West Coast Time, every Thursday night, Pepper picks her favorite songs from the new country albums and plays them on K-Frog for New at Nine! Here are her picks for this week.

Maddie & Tae describe their sophomore album as being about "love, loss, and redemption." "We've lived a lot of life in the past couple of years, but no matter what phase we go through, we always want to have that self-confidence and self-awareness to just go through any type of chapter that life throws at us," says the duo's Tae Dye in a statement from their label. "We've had some ups and down, but through it all, we've stayed ourselves, and we've stayed true to our songwriting."

"We have kind of this thread through the whole entire project, but there's a story of love, loss, and redemption, because that IS our story," she continues. "We were on the top of the mountain and at the very bottom of the valley - within a year. And we had to figure out how to pick ourselves back up, and we had to figure out where to go from there.

"I hope that our fans hear that story, because that is truly what we went through, and truly the emotions, and I hope that they really get empowered by the redemption part, because that is just cyclical in life - you're on the highest of highs and lowest of lows and you gotta figure out how to recover and you just keep going and keep going, and I think hearing that in music - just to keep going - I hope it impacts them the way it's impacted us creating it."

Here are the songs I played from The Way It Feels for New at Nine tonight:
