In a culture where so many things demand one's attention, Riley Green has found that performing his latest single, "I Wish Grandpas Never Died" with a "less is more" attitude has had surprising results.
"That song has been one that I'll step away from the band and go sit on a stool and play it acoustic and people have stopped," he explains in a statement from his label. "I've never seen a reaction like that where people would just stop and listen to the words. That's a really odd thing now.
"I mean, it's different to have a song that's not upbeat, you don't have a band and drums in your face. It's really just a moment of me sittin' there and singing and kinda expressin' my feelings about two guys that really helped me become who I am. And the reaction of the crowd has been something that I think is worth capturing for videos."
