Riley Green will be spending New Year's Eve playing a concert at the Bama Slam Saloon, in New Brockton, Alabama, about three hours away from his hometown of Jackson, Alabama.
"I haven't played a New Year's show in like six years," the "There Was This Girl" singer reports in a statement from his label. "The last one I did was in Birmingham. I opened for Corey Smith at Iron City. And since then, you know, New Year's is not really a good time for musicians to play because bars never wanted to pay anything because people are going to show up anyway.
"That being said, getting to play somewhat close to the house, back in Alabama for New Year's, I'm sure I'll see a lot of familiar faces and it'll be a rowdy night I'm sure."
