Riverside County Public Health Officer Dr. Cameron Kaiser has extended the order requiring residents to practice social distancing and to wear face masks when outside the home for essential tasks to June 19th.
"Whiel we work within the governor's plan for re-opening the state, people must be mindful that COVID-19 has not been eliminated," he noted in a press release. "The new normal in Riverside County will still require social distancing, facial coverings, and other precautions. Summer will only slow the virus, and we are already thinking about what will happen in the fall."
Golf courses were recently allowed to reopen, with restrictions, while his orders closing county schools and limiting short-term lodging until June 19th remain in effect.
The pandemic has caused over 140 deaths in the county, with about 3750 confirmed cases.
