It was an intimate show as Rodney Atkins, Walker Hayes, and Ryan Hurd played the first ever K-Frog Acoustic Valentine's show at Riverside Municipal Auditorium Sunday night (February 16th), with all three acts delivering performances that connected with the audience.
Just a couple days after Valentine's Day, and in the middle of a long weekend, opener Ryan Hurd spoke lovingly and proudly about the success of his wife Maren Morris, including the engagment song, "Diamonds and Twine." He also shared the songwriter versions of Lady Antebellum's "What If I Never Get Over You," Luke Bryan's "Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset," and Diplo's "Heartless," along with his own huge hit, "To A T."
Walker Hayes took the opportunity of the stripped-down setting to add commentary to each of his songs, sharing how his wife both co-wrote and inspired certain songs, and revealing that "Your Girlfriend Does" is a tongue-in-cheek response to "mean tweets."
Rodney Atkins wrapped up the night with an energetic, engaging set, filled with familiar music that allowed the crowd to sing along, and leave on a high note.
