The first ever Jingle Belles was a "runaway" success, thanks to the great music from Runaway June and Caroline Jones!

Taking place at the Canyon in Montclair Thursday night (December 5th), the concert was somewhat of a homecoming for Runaway June, since two of their three members are from California, with Jennifer Wayne even calling K-Frog her "hometown" station.

The intimate show highlighted the harmonies of the band (rounded out by Naomi Cooke and Hannah Mulholland), who had flown in from New York City earlier in the day, and the crowd sang along to the empowering "Lipstick," "Buy My Own Drinks," and the trio's current single, "Head Over Heels." They also included "She Don't Love You," recorded by Eric Paslay, co-written by Jennifer, who noted her California roots again when she spoke of her grandfather, John Wayne, as she introduced "Wild West." The audience filled the dance floor as they danced an "Electric Slide" to the women's cover of Dwight Yoakam's "Fast as You."

Caroline Jones described herself as a "hopeless romantic" as she played her current single, "Chasin' Me," and shared her admiration for mentors and tourmates like Jimmy Buffett and Mac McAnally, who wrote "Gulf Coast Girl" for her (they also recorded the song with her, along with Kenny Chesney and Lukas Nelson). She wrapped up her set with a snippet of "The Christmas Song" before finishing with a previous multi-week Frog Wars champion "Tough Guys."
