In a long overdue booking, Scotty McCreery finally made his Stagecoach debut.
As the sun sank (and sunburns became evident), the weather was finally becoming bearable as Scotty began his set with the beachy "Feelin' It," and also included a nod to another Stagecoach artist, with the Cole Swindell-penned, "Water Tower Town."
"We've been doing this for eight years, and we've never done anything like this," Scotty notes as he gazed appreciatively over the crowd.
Perhaps the most surprising moment of the night came with his cover of Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You," the high notes very much unexpected from the typically traditional country singer, who did reign it back in with his version of George Strait's "Check Yes or No."
Wrapping up his set was the poignant "Five More Minutes," which left several fans, including this reviewer, teary-eyed.
