Tenille Arts' latest single, "Call You Names," is inspired by her mother, and she's says it's about the lessons that, as a teen, she thought were so annoying, but now realizes they're things to help her get through life.
"When I think of my mom, I kind of think about every thing that she's taught me, and I go back to even when I was a teenager and you know, I think everybody goes through a phase of rebellion and kind of going against your parents because you think that you know everything and you think that they're just trying to hold you back, and they're keeping you down and I was guilty of calling my mom some names that I should not have," she recalls in a press release.
"But I think once I grew out of that phase and realized my parents were right. Nobody wants to admit it when you're younger, but then as you grow up, you're like 'Oh, yeah, they were right.' So, my mom taught me a lot and I feel like once I moved away I realized how incredible she was, and everything she did for me."
