Thomas Rhett has won numerous CMA Awards, including Male Vocalist of the Year (twice) and Video and Single of the Year, but even so, he's going into the awards this year with no assumptions, and is honored just to have been nominated, especially in one particular category.
"Every time I'm nominated, I go in with very low expectations for myself," he confesses in a statement from his label. "But it's always super cool when you do win. But just at the same time, this year to be nominated for Male Vocalist and Album of the Year is about the coolest award that I could be nominated for because you do spend so much time on the road writing and figuring out what the direction of the album is gonna be.
"And when you have that many people that have voted for an album like that, to be one of the top five or six is just mind blowing, so really excited. The CMAs are like one of my favorite nights of the year. I get to see everybody and get to dress up and it's just gonna be a fun night."
The CMAs will air Wednesday night at 8pm on ABC.
