When it comes to Valentine's Day, Tyler Rich appreciates experiences over tangible items as gifts.
"I feel like Valentine's Day is such an over-glorified thing where people are always like – At least in school, I remember people would show up every day and be like, 'Oh my God what did you get? What'd you get?'" he recalls in a statement from his label. "And it just became this thing that I just really was annoyed about, just because it was like, 'let's all put on display what our boyfriends paid to get us.' And it was just kind of weird to me.
"So, the first girlfriend I ever didn't buy like a tangible gift that I thought really meant nothing was [my now fiancee] Sabina [Gadecki]," he continues. "We did this kind of get away up in Calabasas/Woodland Hills area in L.A., and I just bought this like, spa retreat day where we went and got massages and spas and relaxed, and just had like a little staycation away, and dinner.
"It was really nice. It was just nice and honest and real, and I think it was my favorite Valentine's Day."
