August is National Eye Exam and Children’s Eye Health Month - the time of the year for everyone to take a closer look at their and their children’s eye health and incorporate a few steps to protect their vision. With many children having spent the last school year doing remote learning, the dramatic increase in the time they spent looking at computer screens can lead to many vision problems.
For many, vision care is in reach. But for more than 1.1 billion people globally, vision care – eye exams, medical care and glasses – is not. Because of the work of global nonprofit OneSight, vision care is available to many people who could otherwise not afford it. In the U.S. alone, OneSight has served over a million people, and more than 10 million globally. K-T Overbey, President and Executive Director of OneSight, discusses the best ways to protect our vision, and that of our children.
