In the Inland Empire, the crime index is nearly double the national average. Twenty one Inland Empire schools rank in the top 100 for dropouts in California. But Scouting changes the lives of youth by building character, confidence, and self-esteem. Kids in the scouting program develop better academic skills, citizenship skills, and generally have a more positive outlook on life.
Matt Myers, CEO of the Boy Scouts of America California Inland Empire Council explains how those traits follow youths into their adult lives.
