Carly Pearce had the chance to sample Dolly Parton's new perfume, "Scent from Above," before it was released to the public on July 28th, but she was reluctant to, and not because she was worried it would smell bad!
The invitation came just moments after Dolly invited Carly to join the Grand Ole Opry, and the emotions of such a tremendous honor caught up with Carly.
"I had tears everywhere and like, snot everywhere because I was crying, and she walked over to me and she had her new perfume in her hand, and she said, 'Honey, do you want some of my perfume?'," Carly recalls in a statement from her label. "And then she goes, 'Smell my neck.'
"And I was like, 'Dolly, I have just cried for the last 20 minutes. I am afraid I'm going to snot on you,'" she continues. "And she handed me her perfume and she just told me that she felt so excited to welcome me into the family."
Carly will be formally inducted into the Grand Ole Opry this Tuesday, August 3rd.
