It doesn't matter how old you are, sometimes you just need Mom and Dad, especially if you're going through a tough time.
That's the situation Carly Pearce found herself in last year, when she was not only going through professional turmoil because of the pandemic and the need to stop touring, but also her personal life was in havoc because of a divorce. Fortunately, she had her parents to lean on through it.
"I'm very close to my mom and dad, and I spent a lot of quarantine with them, before the whole world knew what was happening, just to be close to them and to process it," she says in a statement from her label. "And I've always been so close to them.
"My mom would probably tell you when I was like 16, I didn't think she was that cool, and my dad would probably say that he wishes that I wasn't a teenager, because I was probably a brat," she continues. "But other than that, we're just a really small family and we're just really tight.
"It's so funny, I was 29 but I felt like I was 12, and needed them so badly, and they were right there."
