Carly Pearce (and her duet partner Lee Brice) took home two trophies at last night's ACM Awards, thanks to her song, "I Hope You're Happy Now," which earned the honors in the Single of the Year and Musical Event of the Year categories, and she is humbled by the awards.

"I think it's the validation that we all go through the same things, and it's the validation that my stories matter," she muses in a statement from her label. "It's the validation that the kind of music that I write and the kind of music that I get to sing, and the kind of music that I get to perform matters to country music. And that's all I ever wanted."

Meanwhile, Carly's latest project is an EP called 29, a collection of songs inspired by events that transpired in her 29th year of life, and the "Next Girl" singer will celebrate her 31st birthday this Saturday, April 24th. "I feel like I keep saying that 29 and 30 were the years that really tested my faith," she continues. "And I think that God takes things and sometimes has to break it down to ashes in order to make something beautiful out of it. And I feel like 30 and 31, and hopefully 32, is all the good.

"And he uses our pain sometimes for good, and I'm grateful."
