"Three songs in, and I feel like it's a Friday," Kelsea Ballerini told the pumped-up audience at Yaamava Theatre in Highland Tuesday night (6/20).
It was the first weekday show of Kelsea's "Heart First" Tour, but the crowd at Yaamava was more than happy to pretend it was the weekend and be fully engaged in her charming show.
The state of the art acoustics and comfortable seating offered by Yaamava enhanced the show, which also saw Kelsea using a "B Stage" for the first time, allowing her to get closer to fans in the middle of the theatre for an acoustic performance of "What I Have." She also shared the moment with an aspiring singer from the audience, who wowed the crowd as well.
Among her multiple costume included a gorgeous, flowy lavender dress, which proved to be inhospitable to her mic pack, causing her band and crew to take turns adjusting it at her waist, but Kelsea still turned in a flawless performance, accented by her playful nature.
Her most emotional performances came by way of the songs on her recent "Rolling Up the Welcome Mat" EP. She made no direct mention of ex-husband Morgan Evans, preferring to let the music speak for her.
Kelsea's latest single, "If You're Going Down (I'm Going Down, Too)," is arguably also her most country, and that was the one that the crowd sang along to the loudest.
