Kimberly Perry's show at Yucaipa Performing Arts Center Friday night (March 22nd) could not have come at a more appropriate time than during the Easter season.

As one third of the superstar sibling trio the Band Perry, Kimberly Perry is exploring her own identity as a solo artist, following the breakup of the band after its own forays into other musical genres, eventually returning to its country sounds. Her new journey is one of redemption and rebirth.

Kimberly wisely incorporated several, familiar Band Perry hits early into her set, reminding fans of why this trio became so beloved in the county format, before performing several of her own solo tunes from her latest project Bloom. Many of those songs also explore her own personal journey, through a divorce, remarriage, and motherhood.

Naturally, she closed her set with the iconic "If I Die Young," which she noted, despite its title, is about life, and very appropriate for the spring season.
