Lady A's Charles Kelley has spoken out for the first time following the news of him stepping away from the band to focus on sobriety.

Earlier this month, the band had announced they'd be postponing their Request Line Tour to support Kelley on his journey to sobriety.
Kelley took to Instagram to show his gratitude for all of the fans that have been behind him since making the decision to focus on getting his life back in order.
"I want to thank everyone who has shown me so much support and encouragement so far on my journey of sobriety," he wrote. "Y’alls kind words have meant the world to me and really lifted me up over the past few weeks. I can’t wait to get back on the road with Lady A next year. Getting on that stage and being able to see, hear and feel everything through a clearer lens is going to be a gift that I won’t take for granted."
The trio's Request Line Tour was scheduled to kick off at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium on August 13.
