Mickey Guyton has been nominated a Grammy, a couple of Academy of Country Music Awards, and was the first female black co-host of the ACM Awards last year, but in September, she'll do something she's never done before: release a full-length album.
"Remember Her Name is a culmination of the last ten years of my life in Nashville," shares Mickey in a statement from her label. "This album is the closing of a chapter. All those years ago, I set out to create music that would make people feel self-empowered, loved, and comfortable with being themselves and this album holds true to all of that.
"I hope everyone who listens finds something that connects and speaks to them."
Remember Her Name will drop on September 24th. It'll include singles like "Better Than You Left Me," "What Are You Gonna Tell Her," and "Black Like Me," and a cover of Beyonce's "If I Were a Boy." Mickey had a hand in writing the other fifteen songs on the project.
