We all know that the COVID-19 pandemic drastically affected students, and The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) has released new federal data to show just how much. The Nation's Report Card provides the first look at how students' reading and math skills in all 50 states and 26 of the largest urban districts in the country have changed since 2019. This is the first report that allows us to compare state by state results. Ebony Walton, a statistician and analyst with the National Center for Education Statistics, analyzes those results.
