Art has a way of telling the stories a community carries—on its walls, in its history, and through the people who shape it.
This spring, two local museums are coming together for a powerful, shared exhibition called Community as Canvas, opening April 9th. At the Ontario Museum of History & Art, you’ll find Lived-in: Creative Practices Shaped by People and Places, while the Chaffey Community Museum of Art presents Walls That Speak: A History of Chicana/o Mural Art in the Pomona Valley—highlighting the rich legacy of muralism and cultural expression right here in our region.
Two of the voices behind this collaboration: guest curator Alejandro Poli Jr., (the artist known as "Man One"), and Samantha Herrera, Curator of Exhibits at the Ontario Museum of History & Art, discuss how art, place, and community all come together in this unique exhibition.
This shared exhibition is called Community as Canvas
