Last week, we celebrated our bravest men and women with Veterans Day, but what does the holiday mean for our local vets? In this video, courtesy of the U.S. Navy Office of Community Outreach, several Sailors explain the personal meaning that it holds for them, including Ryan Sandoval of Redlands.
In the video, Sandoval is on board the guided-missile destroyer USS Sterrett (DDG 104). Sterett is part of the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group and is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the Western Indian Ocean and three critical chokepoints to the free flow of global commerce.
