There’s a unique program in Riverside that’s helping people get access to important health services while also giving the next generation of healthcare professionals real-world experience.

The Riverside Free Clinic is a student-run medical clinic in downtown Riverside where volunteers from several local colleges come together to provide free medical, dental, mental health, and pharmacy services to people in our community who may not otherwise have access to care.
Students from UC Riverside, Riverside City College, Western University of Health Sciences, and others volunteer their time every other Wednesday evening at the First Congregational Church, serving people who are uninsured, underinsured, or experiencing homelessness.

Mathew Calvio, Administrative Assistant for Riverside Free Clinic, discusses how the clinic works, who it serves, and how this collaboration is making a difference for both patients and the future of healthcare.
