Just before graduating the police academy, Riverside Police Officer Kayleen Swift was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Despite her diagnosis, her co-workers report that Officer Swift has continued to show up at work with a "radiant smile and positive attitude," and, as you'll hear in this interview, an inspiring story of hope and determination.
The cancer has started attacking her lymph nodes, and there's a concern that it may be spreading. This Saturday, a 5k to raise funds for Officer Swift is being held at the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Training Academy. Officer Swift and Austin Decoud from the training academy discuss the 5k and other ways to honor Officer Swift.
